New Study Confirms Social Anxiety Disorder Is Not Simply Shyness

Authors of a new study have found that social anxiety disorder is not just medicalized shyness. Of those youth with the disorder, only a fraction consider themselves shy, and they are not more likely to be getting treatment compared to their peers, questioning the perception that they are receiving unnecessary medications. Poster presenters must register for the conference and be available throughout the entire poster session to discuss the material and answer questions. Attendees must wear badges to be admitted into the poster sessions.
