ADAA would like to thank everyone who requested a Stress-Free House Party Kit in support of National Stress Øut Week. You have helped make this year's campaign a great success.

Due to an overwhelming response, we have run out of supplies and we can no longer take requests for party kits. 

If you would like to host a party, please download the free information from the website. When you visit www.yogadownload.com, use the code NOSTRESS to receive $10 worth of yoga classes (available through December 31, 2007).

If you requested a kit before November 14, 2007, please be assured that you will receive it. We appreciate your patience while we fill more than 2,000 requests.

You can help spread the word that anxiety disorders are real, serious, and treatable.

  • Continue to visit www.adaa.org/stressoutweek for tips and other information about anxiety and sleep. 
  • Purchase “Women Talk,” an 18-month desk calendar with stress-relief tips for yourself or as a gift.
  • Make a donation to ADAA, so together we can make a difference.
  • Learn about treatments for anxiety disorders and how to find help.

 

What is National Stress Øut Week?

Everyone experiences stress, and sometimes it interferes with a good night’s sleep, so it’s important to learn how to cope. But it’s also important to discover the difference between everyday stress, the occasional sleepless night, and an anxiety disorder. That's the goal of National Stress Øut Week, brought to you by the Anxiety Disorders Association of America.

What better time to connect and relax with friends, family, and other loved ones than during National Stress Øut Week, November 11-17, 2007. During this week and year-round, ADAA works to increase public awareness that anxiety disorders are real, serious, and treatable. One effective way is on a personal level. That’s how you can help: Throw a Stress-Free House Party and ADAA will help you with specially prepared party kits.

 

Stress-Free House Party Kits

You’ve invited five or six friends to a Stress-Free House Party. Now take a look what you can do with the party kit:

Release stress with yoga with a code on www.yogadownload.com: Download $10 worth of yoga classes and printable pose guides. Valid through December 31, 2007.

Take time for tea with calming Tension Tamer and Sleepytime teas from Celestial Seasonings.

Remember to relax with stress-reducing tips on handy bookmarks and wallet-size cards.

Discover the difference between everyday stress and anxiety disorders in informative brochures and articles that offer ways to seek help for yourself and how to help others.

 

Hold a House Party

No matter if your party is big or small, here are some suggestions to make it a success:

  • Practice yoga. Roll out your sticky mats, kick off your shoes, and download a yoga class from www.yogadownload.com
  • Hold a potluck dinner. Click here for potluck recipes from Better Homes and Gardens.
  • Throw an "apple-a-day" or autumn-theme party. Serve apple cider or crisp apples and cheese. Or fast-forward to winter and offer guests hot chocolate with marshmallows.

You can order your kit for free. To help ADAA help others, please make a donation now or send a donation after your party in the envelope provided. Encourage your guests to help ADAA, too.

Your donations will help ADAA accomplish these goals:

  • Improve the lives of millions with an anxiety disorder, through education about anxiety disorders, related illnesses, and treatments.
  • Distribute educational materials to individuals with anxiety disorders and their family and friends at no charge.
  • Invest in young researchers and help them start their independent careers by providing seed money for projects.
  • Advance scientific knowledge to find ways to improve treatments, prevent, and eventually cure anxiety disorders.
  • Connect individuals with treatment professionals.
  • Reduce stigma about anxiety disorders and other mental illnesses.
