Body symptoms
Hi I am so glad I found this website!! I have been suffering for 10 years with panic attacks. I had a period where I was doing pretty good I could leave my house and everything, but in around June 2011 my anxiety came back really strong and I am now suffering agoraphobia. I actually was in the ER yesterday because I got these weird sensations in my head and felt lightheaded and thought I was going to passout! Of course they did no test or nothing because once you are diagnosed with panic attacks thats what you always have. My question for anyone here is have you ever gotten a shocking feeling in your head and dizziness that last for about 20 or 30 sec then stops. It kept coming yesterday about every 20 minutes! I ended up in bed all day! Now today the dizziness is gone but I am so shaky and scared! Thank you for reading this.

I actually had something
I actually had something pretty similar happen a year and a half ago. For a few weeks, several times a day I would start to get tunnel vision and feel really nauseated and lightheaded, like I was going to pass out. Isn't it so scary? I think the scariest thing to me is being told over and over by ER and primary care doctors that I'm young and healthy and there's nothing wrong with me except stress. I'm sorry you had to go through something so scary and didn't find a lot of help from doctors. I know there's not a whole lot an ER doc can do for an anxiety disorder, but I know it's still really frustrating. Do you see a psychiatrist or a counselor? It may not fix the physical stuff right away, but it's definitely helped me to cope with all that stuff, and it's definitely better to talk it over with someone who understands than to be stuck at home, alone and terrified. Just know you're not alone, and there are people who get it. I really hope things get better for you soon.
brain zaps?
Hi I am new to this, but am looking forward to meeting people who are fighting the same battle as me. I have had that electric jolt type feeling in my head quite a few times, it does come along with nausea, I have learned that it is usually from medication. Specifically SSRI's. I have had it happen even months after taking meds. If you look up Brain zaps online it you will see alot of others have this problem at times too. I am a mother of 3, and have been suffering from anxiety/panic/agoraphobia for about 18 or so years. I just tried another med, it doesnt work, just makes it worse. I wish there was a cure.
Brain Zaps
Oh yes, I have definitley experienced those. Those, the hyperventilation and disorientation symptoms were the worst for me. The zoloft, klonopin and xanax prescribed by my psychiatrist helped a lot. It's been quite some time that I have experienced the "brain zaps". Anxiety and panic can be treated, so hang in there and seek treatment.
