Anxiety Disorders Association of America Grants Trainee Travel Awards for 2002
Eight Promising Young Investigators Awarded
ROCKVILLE, MD,
(March 5, 2002) - The Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) announced
the winners of its Trainee Travel Awards for 2002. This award is meant to provide
psychiatric residents and graduate students interested in pursuing anxiety disorders
research with the opportunity to attend the ADAA's annual National Conference,
March 21-24, 2002 in Austin, Texas.
Winners receive a travel
stipend to attend the National Conference and the invitation-only Satellite
Research Symposium, and a one-year membership in the ADAA. This year's awardees
are:

A prerequisite for a
winning proposal is that it be relevant to the ADAA's mission to promote diagnosis,
treatment and awareness of anxiety disorders. Applicants must have a demonstrated
interest and experience in anxiety disorders research. This is the fourth year
the ADAA is presenting these awards.
About the ADAA
The ADAA is the only national, nonprofit organization of researchers, health
care professionals, and individuals with anxiety disorders. The ADAA is dedicated
to the early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of anxiety disorders. It is
the Association's goal to promote professional and public awareness and understanding
of anxiety disorders; it also seeks to increase the availability of effective
treatment, reduce the stigma surrounding anxiety disorders, and stimulate research.
