In 1987, the Phobia Society of America, which would later become the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, testifies before the U.S. House of Representatives to describe the nature, seriousness, and prevalence of anxiety disorders - an event which draws significant national attention. The testimony is later published in the Congressional Record.
