in the Future
Whether
you are one of the more than 40 million men and women in this country
with an anxiety disorder, or have a child who does, we have good
news for you and your loved ones.
You're
not alone. You don't have to feel ashamed or embarrassed. You're
not "crazy" and you're not "imagining it." You
don't have to live a life that's filled with unbearable levels of
anxiety or disabling physical symptoms, because these disorders
are treatable. You can get treated and lead a healthier, more productive
life. It's true. You can help yourself by learning more about your
disorder and seeking treatment, and you can help others by making
a tax-deductible donation
to the ADAA.
Your
contribution will enable us to help you and countless other individuals
and families by providing educational materials, increasing access
to treatment providers and underwriting critically needed research.
We
use funds to:
- conduct
public and professional education and awareness campaigns;
- support
cutting-edge research into the causes, treatments and cures for
anxiety disorders;
- protect
the health and rights of people with an anxiety disorder;
-
unite everyone in a common mission to improve the lives of people
who have an anxiety disorder;
-
serve as the "voice" of people with an anxiety disorder
before legislators, the media and the medical and scientific communities.
All
of our undertakings are designed to help ensure that people who
have an anxiety disorder-whether that's you or someone you know-can
find the care and support they need.
Making
a contribution is easy:
- Donate
online.
- Send
a check or money order by mail to ADAA, 8730 Georgia Avenue, Suite
600, Silver Spring, MD 20910, USA. Please make sure your donation
is in US dollars, made payable to "ADAA."
ADAA
participates in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) and numerous
United Way campaigns that are held annually at workplaces around
the country. If you are a federal or state employee, or a member
of the US military, please designate ADAA as your charity of choice
in this year's CFC. If you are employed by a private company that
participates in the annual United Way campaign, please designate
the ADAA as the beneficiary of your charitable giving. We thank
you!
Help
yourself. Help us help others. Make a donation or give a gift in
recognition or memory of a loved one today. With your support, the
ADAA will continue to improve lives and provide hope to those suffering
from an anxiety disorder.
